You're washed upon the beach of a beautiful tropical island. Or is it? When your travel guide fails to turn up you soon realise this is a one way ticket. But don't hang around - you're being watched. You think your troubles are over when you're washing ashore. Oh no! With your favourite sword lost beneath the ocean waves and a 12 foot Octopaw staring at you with a craving for your eyeballs as hors d'oeuvres, they've only just started. Welcome to Monster Island!

Monster Island is a so-called fantasy "Play-by-Mail" Game in which the player takes over the role of a monster which explores a tropical island. The player gives a number of orders, i.e., traveling in a certain direction, making an item, exploring a location, etc., and as a consequence the monster may meet wild creatures or other players' monsters, learn new knowledge, or find some treasure. The orders are send to a company by snail mail or e-mail and the results are send back to the player.

Eternal Void is a group of players/monsters in the European game who work together on common projects, exchange information and generally help each other in the dangerous daily life on Monster Island. There is a number of different - more or less active - groups on the island, and it is often an advantage to belong to one of them. Not the least, that it is more fun to work together with other players than playing on your own.
